I have always loved to read, I have a number of favorite books, but one that has been the most impactful in my life in recent years has been The Red Rules by Pastor Robert Morgan. This small pocket book is filled with God’s truth about how to unpack ten God given strategies for difficult times. Think back to your Sunday School days and the story of the nation of Israel trapped at the Red Sea. This book unpacks chapter 14 of Exodus and gives us ten profound rules for how to deal with the Red Sea moments in our lives. We have all had those times when the world is crashing down around us. At that moment, when we need help and support, this story of Moses and the Nation of Israel is an example of how we can totally lean on God. As Robert states in his book “The reality of the Red Sea is this: God will always make a way for His tired, yet trusting children, even if He must split the sea to do it.” This book totally changed my world view of how to understand difficult times, it gave me peace, it gave me hope, and it gave me a better understanding of God’s promises in impossible situations. As Robert states “I found Exodus 14 provides a biblical method to process difficulties by faith, in the light of God’s almighty presence, providence, promises and power.” Planning your career and making career changes will often involve moments of indecision and even confusion. Learn from Moses at the Red Sea how to lean into God and know He is always working behind the scenes to make a way.
