My wife was a bundle of nerves over an upcoming job evaluation. As we chatted about why this made her so nervous, I began to think about an assessment we had both taken through Careers With A Purpose. The vocational assessment was named The CALL and it evaluated our God-given gifts and strengths. Bingo! This would provide just the kind of information she needed to go into her review with confidence.
We decided to look at both of our assessment results and found that our God-given gifts are quite different. I have always known my wife as an analytical thinker, perfect for her bookkeeping career, but her strong memory skills were not something I shared.
The Lord gave me a wonderful plan in which to rejoice and rest. Rejoice in my wife’s fabulous memory and rest in the knowledge that the memory God gave me is not wrong, it is just different.
I encourage you to utilize the golden nuggets of this highly accurate vocational assessment within your marriage, your family relationships, and your work environment. This tool will help you understand how you are the same and most importantly, how you are different. Different is not bad, see it as an opportunity to grow and understand your family on a deeper level.
This effective assessment has also helped and encouraged parents and students to sit down and talk about how they can build a road map together for life after graduation and beyond.
